65 Days & Counting....

Image
We are a mere 65 days away from the start of RAAM, for us anyway.  Things are starting to come together on all fronts.  Our crew is finally coming together.  We have our five full time crew members who will be with us the entire race.  Then we have four crew members who will be joining us for the first leg of the race.  Those crew members will swap out with a fresh four crew members in Durango, CO.  Well, we only have two of the four slots filled at this point. If you are looking for something to do in June drop us a line.  Then is St. Louis those four crew members will swap out with another four crew members.  We still have one spot to fill out on the leg.  We still have some work to do, but we are definitely in a better place than we were previously.   We continue to add to our stable of partners and sponsors.  Below you will find a current list of partners/sponsors: Cincinnati Bell Nokia Networks Neltner Small Batch Juniper ...

The Adventure Begins in 89 Days

Image
No update for over a month!!!  Well, COVID knocked me down, but not out.  It has definitely had an impact on my ability to train, but I am getting stronger by the day.  Enough about me though. We roll out for Oceanside 89 days from today.  There is no turning back at this point.  We continue to plan, gather sponsors, and train!  Honestly, the training part is the easiest part of the equation.  It is the planning and logistics that are a NIGHTMARE!  At least for a team full of rookies.   We have a crew chief, Jo Anne Pennington.  A rookie crew chief to go with the RAAM rookie riders.  Jo Anne has stepped up big time and volunteered for this massive undertaking.  We can't thank her enough.   She has been hard at work on logistics, booking hotels, and going over about every "what if" scenario that we are going to encounter during the race.   On the sponsor front we have been busy.  Please be sure and...

137 Days Until RAAM....

Image
137 days until RAAM and I way less panicked than I was last week.  We have had made some way on the planning and strategy front.  It sounds like we are going to break everyone up into two four man teams and rotate the on and off shifts between the two teams.  We still haven't figured out what those on or off shifts look like.  Are they 8 hours or 12 hours?  That is all a still TBD.  If all goes as planned each team will run with a crew chief and then we will have a master strategist back home to crunch the numbers and make any adjustments that are needed.  Now all we need is to find the people to fill these roles.   We have partnered with a super talented designer to build us a new logo as well as design our new jerseys.  I have seen the initial proofs and they look amazing.  I can't wait to get the finished product.   My training is going well.  Legs feel pretty flat today, but I would rather be flat today than out o...
